full day trail & Sail

Full Day Trail and Sail with Coach Transfers from/to the Hotel, Guide & Lunch including water/soft drinks: An opportunity to experience a thrilling adventure walking an un-inhabited trail and cruising back on our catamaran "Indiana".

During the north east tradewinds of November to April: The medium-graded trail starts at 'Jardin du Roi, originally a colonial spice plantation in the foothills of Anse Royale, through a virgin rain forest where several endemic plants are found, to the summit 600 m above sea level. The trail is steep in places, and is aptly named "Montagne Gratte Fes", indication that parts of the descent is literally by the seat of one's pants.

The views of the ocean stretching to the distant horizon, with the southern coast lines of Mahe island in the foreground, is a fantastic photo opportunity. An exotic fruit juice is served at 'Jardin du Roi' before walking across the Anse Royale plateau to the wide sheltered bay, where "Indiana" is anchored.

After boarding from the beach, "Indiana" will cruise around the headland to moor in the shallow waters off the un-inhabited Souris Island, a tranquil, popular spot for snorkelling. A sumptuous Creole lunch is served on board, before cruising north to Victoria. During the south east tradewinds of May to October: Starting from 'Danzilles', the palm-fringed trail along the deserted northwest coast is bordered with granite boulders. Our experienced guide points out the flora and fauna along the way. The 1.5 hour walk ends at 'Anse Major', where our catamaran "Indiana" is moored in the sheltered bay.

After boarding from the pristine beach by dinghy, the day's excursion continues with a cruise to the Bay Ternay marine park, stopping at some beautiful snorkelling sites, where guests not wishing to swim can spend time feeding the fish or sunbathing on the spacious deck.

A delicious Creole buffet lunch is served on board. Fullday Cruise: Instead of participating in the walk, tourists may choose to board "Indiana" from its mooring in Victoria, and enjoy the sights relaxing on a day-long cruise along the coast - a different perspective of Mahe Island.
