The next stop is the colonial centre of "the world's smallest capital", Victoria. Highlights to visit are the court buildings, museum, post office, Little Ben clock-tower [twin of the one outside Victoria Station in London]. A turn around the corner takes one to the only set of traffic lights on Mahe Island, next to the 'Codevar' building where local crafts, including the renowned Kreol Or [Creole Gold] are on display for sale.A walk across Albert Street leads one to the focal point of the town, its colourful market where stalls of fresh fish, tropical fruits & vegetables, herbs & spices, are displayed in an abundance of fragrances.
A short walk to the coach next to the Roman Catholic cathedral [where the clock strikes twice], for the transfer to Victoria's *marina to board our glass-bottomed boat for the trip across the harbour to Round Island, with a stop midway to feed the fish and explore the underwater world from the comfort of our semi-submersible.
Round Island provides an enchanting opportunity to explore the rich are still trying to guess the secret recipe of the marinade - truly a gastronomic experience that leaves one wanting to come back for more. After lunch, guests are transferred to neighboring Cerf Island, where they have a choice of lazing in the sun, snorkeling or exploring.
